We don’t think it can we know it can! We have been involved in the health industry since 1990. We have seen ‘fads’ come and go but none holds truer than the optimal, vitalistic and healthy lifestyle that we espouse here at Vital Wellbeing. Living the vital wellbeing way is great for grandparents, parents, kids and sports people! That’s why our vision is optimal health of generations and our mission is to provide vital tools for generational change in health.

I want to improve my health, where do I start?
Great question and it can be daunting! Because we have walked this path with many people we have written a ‘where to start’ article. Where you start will depend on how deep you want to dive. Some want to start the journey slowly and others want to jump in with both feet. There are many different ways you can get started at Vital Wellbeing. Education is one of the most powerful ways to create a foundation for an optimal, vitalistic and healthy life. Our books, reports and articles will give you plenty of ‘Arha!’ moments whilst providing education, tools and support for lifelong change in your own and your family’s health.
Hi, I really want to move to living a more alternate way of life with all the optimal lifestyle things you mention. However, I use the allopathic health approach and feel scared to move away from what is familiar. Where can I start?
We understand your fear and anxiousness when wanting to move to uncharted waters. We do encourage education at all levels because we feel knowledge is powerful and when you apply your knowledge you instigate lifelong change. It sounds like the best place for you to start would be with reading our award winning and international bestselling books The Vital Truth and The Health Illusion. I know you have fed your kids organic food and make everything from scratch since they were born but I’m just starting on this journey with my family. Can you tell me what I should be avoiding in food when I go shopping?
Congratulations on taking the steps to start! Yes course we can share what we know. It is relatively easy to find what to avoid in food because it is well documented. We have listed the following for you. What you might like is our small Vital Wellbeing ‘Check for these nasty ingredients’ card to print and carry in your purse or wallet when shopping!
Here are the more common numbers in foods:
Numbers in the 100’s = Colours: 102, 104, 107, 110, 120, 122-129, 132, 142, 150, 151, 155, 160B. These numbers are linked to various health challenges one of which is hyperactivity in children.
Numbers in the 200’s = Preservatives: Sorbates 200-203, Benzoates 210-213, Sulphites 220-228, Nitrates, Nitrites 249-252 Proprionates 280-283
Numbers in the 300’s = Antioxidants: 310-312,TBHQ, BHA, BHT, 319-321
Numbers in the 600’s = Flavour Enhancers/MSG/Glutamates: 620-625, 627 631 635
621 is the MSG number and is to be avoided. Please be aware that MSG is in a lot of products. When an item says ‘No MSG’ it will be laced with other flavour enhancing numbers so don’t be fooled and be very aware. MSG to a neurotoxin and will affect your nerve system. MSG has a variety of disguised names too. Also avoid anything hydrolysed – hydrolysed vegetable protein (30-60% MSG) hydrolysed protein, hydrolysed plant protein, plant protein extract, calcium and sodium caseinate, potassium glutamate, yeast extract, textured protein or TVP
Numbers in the 900’s = Artificial Sweeteners: 952, 954, 955, 965, 966, 967, 958, 951,951
951 is the Aspartame number and is to be avoided. Please be aware that this is the most complained about food sweetner which has been linked to a lot of health challenges. Also avoid – high fructose syrup, corn syrup, soy protein isolate (found in most high protein foods, like protein bars and protein powders), hydrogenated vegetable oil and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil.
